Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi led by the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Asamoah, has formally welcomed first-year students arriving on campus for the 2025/2026 academic year.
The welcome coincided with the official reporting of freshers to their respective halls of residence under the University’s Safe Arrivals initiative, a programme in place for the past four years to ensure a smooth and secure transition for incoming students.
As part of the exercise, members of the management team toured several halls of residence to inspect the Safe Arrivals process and assess how students were settling into campus life.
Other officials present included the Registrar, Benjamin Boampong Owusu.
Addressing the freshers, Professor Asamoah reaffirmed the University’s commitment to providing a safe, supportive and enabling environment for teaching, learning and personal development. He also urged staff involved in the reception process to continue offering guidance and assistance to ensure a smooth transition for the new students.
The Director of Students’ Affairs, Professor Marian Asantewaah Nkansah, congratulated the freshers on their successful admission and encouraged them to take full advantage of the academic and co-curricular opportunities available at KNUST.
The Director of Health Services, Dr Nana Kwame Ofori Ayisi-Boateng, also interacted with the students and provided updates on the ongoing freshers’ medical examinations.
